- Without picking the wrong network
If you have never done this before, it can seem complicated. But it is not. You just need to understand the correct flow: Purchase, Protection, Self-custody. Let us go step by step.
PARTE 1, Como abrir conta em uma CEX
Create an account
You will: visit the official website (confirm the domain!), create an account with email, create a strong password and confirm the email. Never use a link sent by third parties. Type the address manually or save it to your bookmarks.
Enable security immediately
Before depositing any amount: enable 2FA with Google Authenticator (do not use SMS), enable extra verification for withdrawals and turn on the address whitelist if available. This already eliminates most risks.
PARTE 2, KYC (verificação de identidade)
KYC stands for "Know Your Customer". You will send a photo ID, a selfie and sometimes proof of address. Why do they do this? Regulatory requirement, fraud prevention and higher withdrawal limits. Without KYC, you may stay restricted.
PARTE 3, Depositar dinheiro (Pix no Brasil)
On most CEX with BRL support: go to "Deposit", choose BRL, choose Pix, generate the QR Code and send the Pix from your bank. The balance shows up quickly. Always confirm: institution name, CNPJ (when applicable) and the exact amount.
PARTE 4, Comprar criptomoeda
After depositing: go to "Trade" or "Buy", pick the pair (e.g. BTC/BRL or USDT/BRL) and choose the order type. For beginners, use a market order. Limit orders are more strategic but require understanding.
PARTE 5, Sacar para sua wallet (parte mais importante)
Have your wallet ready
Before withdrawing: install MetaMask or Trust Wallet, create the wallet, write down the seed offline and copy the correct address. Never send without double-checking.
Understand the NETWORK
This is the most common mistake. USDT exists on multiple networks: ERC20 (Ethereum), TRC20 (Tron), BEP20 (BSC), Arbitrum, Polygon. If your wallet supports Ethereum and you send via Tron, you may lose the funds.
Before withdrawing, confirm: which network does your wallet support?
How to withdraw correctly
On the exchange: click "Withdraw", choose the coin, paste your wallet address, pick the correct network, check the first and last characters of the address, do a small-amount test (recommended) and confirm via 2FA.
Never withdraw a large amount on the first try. Run a small test first.
PARTE 6, Como não errar rede (regra de ouro)
Simple rule: if your wallet is a standard MetaMask, you usually use the Ethereum network or EVM networks (Arbitrum, BSC etc). If it is Bitcoin, send on the Bitcoin network. If it is Solana, send on the Solana network. Never pick a network just because the fee is cheaper. Pick the compatible network.
PARTE 7, Após o saque
Once the funds arrive, you are in self-custody. Now: do not share your seed, do not connect your wallet to a suspicious site and do not click on a strange token. You have left the exchange custody. The responsibility is now yours.
PARTE 8, Erros mais comuns
- Not enabling 2FA
- Using SMS as the only method
- Withdrawing on the wrong network
- Copying the wrong address
- Not running a small test
- Clicking on a fake exchange link
Rushing creates errors. An error in crypto is permanent.
PARTE 9, Estratégia inteligente
Use the CEX as the entry and exit door. Use your own wallet as the vault. Do not leave significant assets sitting on the exchange. The CEX is a tool. The wallet is sovereignty.
- What you should take from this guide
Opening an account is simple. Buying is simple. Withdrawing is simple. But simple does not mean automatic.
If you confirm the domain, enable security, choose the right network and run a small test, you are already ahead of most people.
