Crypto security is not paranoia, it is survival.

Understand one thing first.

Blockchain is almost never hacked. Those who are hacked are users. Scammers exploit: inattention, rush, greed and lack of knowledge. If you eliminate these four factors, you already reduce 90% of the risk.

Rule No. 1: Seed phrase is sacred

If someone has your seed phrase, that person controls your wallet. It doesn't matter if you put a password, if you enabled biometrics, if you use 2FA.

Never send to anyone, never type on a website, never print, never store in the cloud, never save on your phone.

The seed’s place is on paper. Guarded with responsibility. Professionals make two copies, store them in different places and never scan.

Common Strokes and How to Avoid Them

  • 4.1 False support

You question the X or Telegram. Someone calls in private saying to be "support". It will ask your seed. It is scam. True support never asks seed phrase.

  • 4.2 Fake websites

You search "MetaMask login". Click on the first sponsored link. Connect wallet. Lose everything. Always check: correct domain, complete URL, security lock and writing errors on the site. Never connect wallet in a hurry.

  • 3.3 Fake airdrop

You get a strange token in your wallet. It appears with a link saying to redeem. You connect, sign a transaction and clean your wallet. Unknown tokens should be ignored.

  • Phishing by email

Email saying: "Update your wallet", "Problem in your account", "Suspension detected". Wallet does not send this type of email. Blockchain has no email support.

Unlimited Approvals: The Invisible Risk

When you use DeFi, you approve contracts to move your tokens. Many users approve unlimited value. This means that that contract can spend your tokens in the future. If the site is hacked or malicious, you can lose.

Experienced users only approve the required amount, review permissions regularly, and revoke old contracts.

Separation of wallets (smart strategy)

  • Do not use a single wallet for everything.
  • Wallet 1: Daily operations
  • Wallet 2: Reserve of Value
  • Wallet 3: tests and airdrops

If one is compromised, you don’t lose everything.

Hardware wallet: when is it worth it?

If you have significant value invested, consider using Ledger or Trezor. Your keys are physically isolated. Even if your computer is infected, the transaction needs to be confirmed on the device.

Protect your environment

Crypto does not depend only on the wallet. It depends on the environment you use.

  • Use a separate browser only for crypto
  • Avoid unknown extensions
  • Do not use a public computer
  • Keep the system updated
  • Do not install pirate software

Viruses don't "hack blockchain". They steal your keys.

Safety in Correctors

Even using exchange, you need: enable two-factor authentication (2FA), use authenticator app (not SMS), enable seizure verification and use unique email for crypto.

Sim Swap: Little Talked Attack

Scammers persuade the operator to transfer their number. They receive their SMS verification. They enter their accounts. If you invest seriously, avoid relying on SMS for security.

Beware of malicious contracts and NFTs

Before you sign any transaction: read what you are approving, see if it is "approve", "transfer" or "setApprovalForAll".

If you don’t understand what you’re signing, don’t sign.

Social Engineering: The Biggest Risk

Scammers create urgency. "Last chance", "Token will explode", "Critical error in your account". Emergency is a tool of manipulation. Crypto demands calm. Always.

The correct mentality

Security is not something you activate once. It’s habit. It’s routine. It’s discipline. If you treat crypto like a traditional bank, you’ll go wrong. If you treat it as a sovereign system, you evolve.

Quick Checklist to Apply Today

Is your seed stored offline?

Do you use 2FA with authenticator app?

Do you have a separate wallet for booking?

Have you reviewed old permits?

Do you use a unique browser for cryptography?

If you answered “no” to someone, start there.

What You Should Take From This Guide

In the crypto market, freedom is real, but responsibility is also.

You can have total sovereignty. Or you can lose everything by a wrong click. Security is not exaggeration. It is strategy.
